{"id":775,"date":"2013-07-24T03:07:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-24T03:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eaumaison.wordpress.com\/2013\/07\/24\/a-repeat-trip-to-gj"},"modified":"2013-07-24T03:07:00","modified_gmt":"2013-07-24T03:07:00","slug":"a-repeat-trip-to-gj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eaumaison.us\/index.php\/2013\/07\/24\/a-repeat-trip-to-gj\/","title":{"rendered":"A repeat trip to GJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For my Dad&#8217;s birthday last week the family descended on Grand Junction again.\u00a0 I was happy to be back to their pool and lazy days of free entertainment and care for Jack.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We flew this time, using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dianoway.com\/\">Denver Air charter flights<\/a> out of Jeffco Airport.\u00a0 It was pretty slick &#8211; no security, no long drive to DIA, super friendly, no crowds, etc etc.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9345413014\/\" title=\"GJ for Dad's birthday by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"GJ for Dad's birthday\" height=\"640\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2857\/9345413014_f2c8f186a1_z.jpg\" width=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately the afternoon storm made this the worst flight I have ever  been on.\u00a0 Our lightweight plane was bounced hither and thither.\u00a0 Jack  and I both made use of the airsickness bags &#8211; several times in his  case.\u00a0 The flight was also double in length because of the detour we had  to make around the storm.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9342628817\/\" title=\"GJ for Dad's birthday by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"GJ for Dad's birthday\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3747\/9342628817_0ea5636094_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But we made it in one piece!\u00a0 Jack quickly recovered and was ecstatic to see Grandpa at the airport. Jack made him open his present as soon as we got to the house.\u00a0 The rest waited until the next day, when Mom would be back from visiting Grandma Lois in Salt Lake, and Andy and Jen and dogs could arrived too.\u00a0 Ben even drove up for a short overnight stay.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9345418568\/\" title=\"GJ for Dad's birthday by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"GJ for Dad's birthday\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3676\/9345418568_252a8decbd_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Friday I baked a cake, we swam, played, and ate well.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t put shoes on all day.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9345419902\/\" title=\"GJ for Dad's birthday by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"GJ for Dad's birthday\" height=\"640\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3715\/9345419902_544f111e8b_z.jpg\" width=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9345426014\/\" title=\"GJ for Dad's birthday by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"GJ for Dad's birthday\" height=\"640\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7400\/9345426014_fc1fcacbc3_z.jpg\" width=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saturday a little shopping downtown.\u00a0 Very little &#8211;
