{"id":756,"date":"2013-09-09T18:23:00","date_gmt":"2013-09-09T18:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eaumaison.wordpress.com\/2013\/09\/09\/d-day"},"modified":"2013-09-09T18:23:00","modified_gmt":"2013-09-09T18:23:00","slug":"d-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eaumaison.us\/index.php\/2013\/09\/09\/d-day\/","title":{"rendered":"D Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today this kiddo is officially fully cooked.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9712430430\/\" title=\"Untitled by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Untitled\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2890\/9712430430_b9044f015f_z.jpg\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Obviously I&#8217;m still pregnant.\u00a0 Despite many encouraging twinges and pains and feelings in my nethers I&#8217;d better leave undescribed, no labor has started.\u00a0 My mom points out that I wasn&#8217;t even to my due date yet, so of course nothing has happened.\u00a0 But I&#8217;ve always seen the due date as a &#8220;Sell By&#8221; date, rather than a &#8220;Do Not Open Until&#8221; date.\u00a0 I know it&#8217;s wrong, but that&#8217;s how my brain interprets it.\u00a0\u00a0 I can&#8217;t help but be hopeful starting at 37 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight I see my midwife and we&#8217;ll make a plan.\u00a0 I&#8217;d still love to go into labor naturally.\u00a0 It&#8217;s safer, and darn it, what was the use of studying all those labor signs and warnings, memorizing instructions, baby-sitting arranging, and hospital bag pre-packing for if I don&#8217;t put it to use?\u00a0 It&#8217;s like a big test I studied for was changed to open book by the professor that morning.\u00a0 You feel relief, but a little put out that you did all that prep for nothing.<\/p>\n<p>I LOVE having Ben home with me.\u00a0 He has declared himself my intern, and to give him things to do.\u00a0 I was vacuuming this morning and feeling worn out.\u00a0 But mopping needed to be done.\u00a0 I hesitantly asked him to do it and he jumped on board.\u00a0 He also did the dishes for me without asking, and took care of Jack while I showered.\u00a0 It&#8217;s so nice to shower without &#8220;mommymommymommy&#8221; coming in through the door, trying to judge whether he wants to show me a toy or whether he pooped his pants and actually needs attention.\u00a0 Quiet, hot showers.\u00a0 I love them.<\/p>\n<p>Ben joined us at our usual Monday Story Time at the library.\u00a0 I plan on him taking over this duty for the next few weeks, so Jack can have his usual routine despite the new brother sucking up all of mom&#8217;s time and energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rachelsmason\/9709193043\/\" title=\"Untitled by rachelsmason, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Untitled\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3775\/9709193043_bf7e4f777f_z.jpg\" height=\"640\" width=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then I had Ben drop me at home while they go grocery shopping without me.\u00a0 Ahh.\u00a0 So nice to put my feet up and blog, instead of limping through the aisles.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>You can be sure once we have baby action to share, I will let you all know.\u00a0 Hopefully my next post includes adorable newborn squishy baby pictures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today this kiddo is officially fully cooked.
