They&#8217;re the common cultural currency of our time, the basic cinematic texts that everyone should know, at minimum, to be somewhat &#8220;movie-literate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kottke then asterisks all the movies he has seen.
