We&#8217;re trying to limit our meat consumption (<a href=\"http:\/\/scriptures.lds.org\/en\/dc\/89\/12#12\">Word of Wisdom<\/a>), only diet soda, and when we eat out (hopefully less often) we&#8217;ll eat less of the portions and order lower calorie foods.  Ben is also committed to cooking one meal a week so he&#8217;s less dependent on me for dinners. <\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the things I made in my kitchen so far this year.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/45c41-img_0485.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/45c41-img_0485.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416106845985058\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>BBQ boneless chicken with corn muffin and roasted brussel sprouts (my favorite new way of cooking them). <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/bcb5d-img_0489.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/bcb5d-img_0489.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416111140952370\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Roasted carrots and parsnips, lemony lima beans with parmesan, and buttered noodles.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/89bef-img_0496.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/89bef-img_0496.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416115435919682\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Blueberry lemon muffins.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/eaac3-img_0500.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/eaac3-img_0500.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416119730886994\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Broccoli soup.  The creaminess comes from using oats &#8211; there&#8217;s no cream, cheese, or milk!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/4dda8-img_0504.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/4dda8-img_0504.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416128320821602\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Chinese chicken soup (chicken, peppers, carrots, and garlic)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/f0501-img_0514.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/f0501-img_0514.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416574997420402\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Turkey meatloaf, braised butternut squash and sage, wild rice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/b416a-img_0521.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/b416a-img_0521.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416579292387714\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and candied ginger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/52094-img_0530.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/52094-img_0530.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416583587355026\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Tofu udon soup with spinach, shitake, and scallions.  I HATED this. Ben liked it well enough. <br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/9747d-img_0536.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/9747d-img_0536.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416587882322338\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>Tofu tacos.  I hate tofu, but this was an acceptable way of eating it.  Black beans would have been better though.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/85079-img_0540.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/eaumaison.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/85079-img_0540.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5030416592177289650\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>My version of massaman curry with sweet potatoes in place of regular, scallions instead of onions, and lowfat coconut milk.<\/p>\n<p> Ben also made some pasta and bean soups that didn&#8217;t get photographed.  I made old vegetarian favorites that I didn&#8217;t record as well.
