I have a new hobby.<\/p>\n

This summer I started picking locks. \u00a0I love it. \u00a0That feeling when it releases is euphoric. \u00a0You can tinker mindlessly, or meticulously tease each pin like a puzzle. \u00a0<\/div>\n

I’m a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. \u00a0I was watching the Houdini & Doyle TV show and decided to finally jump in and learn picking. \u00a0I got a started set and within ten minutes had my first padlock open. \u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Reddit has a great community and sources for learning. \u00a0I have no nefarious intentions, it’s purely a hobby. \u00a0In fact, there are two rules lock pickers uphold:<\/div>\n
1) Do not pick a lock that doesn’t belong to you.<\/div>\n
2) Do not pick a lock in use. \u00a0<\/div>\n

I only had three pad locks to play with. \u00a0When my parents were out here I let my Dad in on my hobby. \u00a0Yesterday I was thrilled to find he and my Mom sent me three new (old) locks to pick!<\/div>\n

The cylinder locks were fairly easy. \u00a0The circular padlock gave me trouble. \u00a0After a few sessions I put some lubricant in and finally popped it today!<\/div>\n
