Today is my mom’s birthday, yay!\u00a0 Since she is queen of spoiling her presents, Jack and I surprised her with a weekend visit.\u00a0 My dad was in on the secret, so we didn’t mess up their weekend too much.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What follows are photos of gratuitous spoilage.\u00a0 You might want to avert your eyes. \u00a0 <\/p>\n

Jack wasn’t the only one spoiled.\u00a0 (This was apparently “just lying around the office.”\u00a0 And everyone “has one but you, so you might as well take it.”)<\/p>\n

I made lemon cookies and Jack played with flour.\u00a0 Flour was EVERYWHERE. <\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/a>This is English Muffin bread from this recipe.<\/a> (I halved the recipe.)\u00a0 I’m super sad that I forgot to pack home the bag with my extra loaf in it. <\/a><\/div>\n

Dad prepared for the weekend with finger-paints!\u00a0 Jack was hesitant to get messy at the start, but after a while he was able to enjoy it.<\/p>\n

I have to document the moment of great sadness.\u00a0 At one point Jack decided to get off his chair at the dinner table and face-planted into the tiled floor.\u00a0 It took a good half hour of mothering and grandmothering to calm him down.\u00a0 This was earlier in the day, before finger painting.\u00a0 I got him to smile for a picture, showing us his chipped tooth.\u00a0 Poor guy.\u00a0 Good thing he has his first dentist visit Wednesday.\u00a0 Here is a before and after comparison.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

(PS Mom, he let us brush his teeth tonight with his “choo choo” toothpaste and penguin toothbrush.\u00a0 He also gobbled down dinner without trouble and was upset there was no more watermelon.\u00a0 Don’t worry, Ben picked up a watermelon already.)<\/p>\n

Even with his fall, it was a super fun weekend!\u00a0 If anything, it was too short.\u00a0 But I have a shift tomorrow I have to work and my folks have to go back to their busy lives too.\u00a0 Thank you for letting up crash your house this weekend! \u00a0 <\/p>\n
